De Krook, Ghent
Miriam Makebaplein 1, 9000 Gent
Situated at the intersection of culture and innovation, De Krook serves as a specialized "Living Lab" where our team prototypes and tests societal interventions in real-time. The building is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure designed to bridge the gap between abstract research and tangible application:

The Maker Space: A high-end prototyping hub featuring 3D printers, laser cutters, and various digital fabrication tools for rapid physical development.

Observation Labs: Sophisticated facilities equipped with eye-tracking, physiological sensors, and high-definition recording to study human-technology interaction in controlled yet realistic settings.

Co-creation Rooms: Dedicated workshop spaces designed for participatory design sessions, where researchers, citizens, and stakeholders collaborate to "imagineer" future solutions.

This unique combination of high-tech fabrication and deep behavioral observation allows us to ensure that every project is not only technically feasible but also socially desirable.
Industrial Design Center (IDC) Kortrijk
Marksesteenweg 58, 8500 Kortrijk
Located at UGent Campus Kortrijk, the Industrial Design Center (IDC) is an open knowledge center and the creative heart of the Industrial Design Engineering program. It serves as a collaborative hub where researchers and industry partners transform conceptual ideas into functional, industrial-grade prototypes.

The facility is equipped with specialized infrastructure to support every stage of the design process:

Prototyping Labs: Extensive workshops dedicated to physical product design, enabling the creation of high-fidelity models and functional proofs-of-concept.

Digital Fabrication Hub: Advanced facilities for 3D printing and laser cutting that allow for rapid iteration and the precise technical integration of systems.

Design Nexus Research Space: A dedicated environment for the design.nexus team to focus on the technical and industrial feasibility of societal innovations.

User Innovation toolbox
The User Innovation Toolbox is a collaborative Miro template designed to guide teams through the Design Thinking process. Created by imec, Ghent University, mict, and Design Nexus, it provides a structured, "learn-by-doing" framework for solving complex societal challenges.
